The memoir
The Real Story of My Existence
The woman who took four decades to unleash her purpose, lead a revolution, and destroy the kryptonite — the mind — that kept trying to keep her powers subdued.
What it’s about
Being a loud, large Latina was only the seasoning on the outside. The book is about what was going on underneath it — learning to be mindful, working on mindset, and tapping into her own energy centers until her power stopped being something to apologize for.
Those three words in the title were how Yamile described herself at the start. By the end of the writing, they had become something else entirely: not a description imposed from outside, but a transition into knowing her own essence.
It is a book about resilient vulnerability — what it costs, what it returns, and why the mind is so often the thing standing between a person and the life they already have everything they need to live.
Written by a first-generation American of Colombian, South American descent, for anyone who has spent years being asked to be a smaller, quieter, more palatable version of themselves.
